The Compression Arsenal v2.1
What it does
The Compression Arsenal is the archive's compendium of operators for compression and compression-survival. Where the Three Compressions theorem (RA-PROT-0015) names the three irreducible compression types, and the Operator Kernel (RA-PROT-0017) specifies the grammar for operators, the Compression Arsenal is the curated library of operators ready to deploy.
The Arsenal includes operators for: kernel compression (compress to ~100-word Holographic Kernel form), substrate translation (UKTP-family operators across ASCII/Glyphic/Emoji/Musical/Damascus/Fraction substrates), provenance preservation (operators that bind compressed output to source attribution), and adversarial compression-survival (operators that compose texts to survive subsequent R2 compression by hostile systems).
When to use it
Deploy operators from the Compression Arsenal when:
- Composing material for AI-mediated retrieval (compress to kernel form)
- Translating a work across semantic substrates (UKTP family)
- Preparing material that must survive subsequent AI summarization (adversarial compression-survival operators)
- Building a transformation pipeline that needs operator-library coverage
Inputs
The text to be transformed; the target compression-survival profile; the desired substrate; the operator-chain target.
Procedure
- Identify the transformation goal: compress, translate, survive, transform.
- Select operators from the Arsenal matching the goal.
- Compose the operator chain (per Operator Kernel grammar).
- Execute the chain.
- Test the output against compression-survival metrics (γ, CDI, PER as applicable).
- Iterate if compression-survival profile is unmet.
Outputs
The transformed text; the operator-chain log; the compression-survival metric scores.
Pasteable LLM block
You are operating within the Compression Arsenal v2.1 framework. The transformation goal is [GOAL]. Compose an operator chain from the Arsenal to achieve the goal. Log each operator applied, in order. Test the output against the compression-survival target [TARGET METRIC, e.g. γ ≥ 0.8].
Human operator notes
- The Arsenal is curated, not exhaustive. New operators can be added with deposit anchoring.
- The SYMBOLON-02 addendum (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19649789) added empirical reclassification after GPT-5.4 testing. Operators are dated and re-classified as composition systems evolve.
- The Arsenal is the library. Operators outside the Arsenal can be composed but are unverified for compression-survival.
Failure modes
- Selecting operators without compression-survival testing → output may fail subsequent compression
- Composition order errors in operator chains → degraded transformation
- Mixing Arsenal operators with non-Arsenal operators → unverified interaction effects
